(Gained serum from a spy, who stole it from another research division which produced behemoth like results this flaw was corrected with Krieger )


Notes:
Cross is often mistaken to be a dumb brute but is in fact very intelligent, with a degree in Engineering and Political Science. He has used this stereotype to listen in on rival officers planning to usurp his commander and friend Mastermind. This friendship seems to stem back to their childhood, even though there's little information to corroborated this.

William Krieger is the son of a British defector
(explaining his first name) Graham Walters who fell in love with a German nurse Anke Krieger in 1892 however his position with the British army kept Graham away from Anke as he was often deployed in Africa, still they kept in touch and a week later she discovered she was pregnant. After writing to him telling him of there child he pleaded with his superiors to allow him to return, they never allowed him. So William spend the majority of his childhood speaking to his father through letters. A fact that caused his father to resent his Country.

While William was in school he showed a very keen knack for his Academic work, but he chose to focus on physical activates an act which allowed him to posses such great muscle mass in his adulthood.

It wasn't until 1910 that William met his Father in person, him having jumped ship during a stop in Spain. But by that time the build up to the Great War had begun and the money Graham had sent to them over the years had run out.

So Graham took up smuggling in order to pay for his family's well being, but when William was 19 his fathers luck ran out on a job smuggling weapons and he was killed during the first years of WWI .

This is the last record of William before he appeared in his enlisting in the Wehrmacht in 1936 where he gained a reputation as being the strongest man in the Reich. This was usually proven to sceptics by his ability to pull a train over a mile but this usually exhausted him. Now with the chemical enhancements he's gone through, he can now lift a train, as well as pull it for hours on end.

:Its most probable that he used a different name until he enlisted.
:It is also possible that MasterMind simply erased the memory of anyone who might of seen the two growing up to protect his friend, as well as fool his enemy's into taking Iron Cross into there confidence.
